Our bodies depend upon daily cycles of light and dark to regulate our energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, immune system, hormones and a host of biological processes.  To put it simply: light is our master clock (Zeitgeber) and exposure to natural light is a cornerstone of our health and wellness.  Unfortunately we spend >90% of our time indoors, stuck in lighting purgatory with no clear day or night signals.   Indoor lighting is too dim to signal ‘day time’ and too bright for ‘night time’ – leaving our bodies confused and disoriented.   The goal of this blog is to raise awareness of the link between light and health, and provide practical tips for what you can do to live a healthier and happier life!

TIP#1 = GET OUTSIDE during the day (morning exposure to natural light is particularly beneficial) and minimize artificial light at night … you’ll sleep and feel better immediately, it’s the best medicine you don’t have to buy!!
